Everyone Loves Thai Tea!

Thai Tea, known as cha-yen (ชาเย็น) in Thailand, is a delicious brew of black tea and thai herbs and spices.  Cha-yen specifically refers to Thai tea with milk while cha-dum-yen is tea with out milk.  Thai tea makes for a great cup of tea any time of day and a great after dinner tea.  When brewed Thai Tea produces a smooth but complex aromatic brew, with tropical essence and nutty undertones. To create a memorable cup of Thai Tea, it is best to prepare the tea the best way, the Thai way! Brew an iced brew of tea and pour condensed milk or heavy creamer at the top.

Normal Water Brew (cha dum yen):
1. Heat water to 210° F (just under boiling)
2. Measure 1-1.5 teaspoons of tea and place in a
strainer or cup, whatever you desire.
3. Pour 1 cup of the heated water over the tea leaves
and allow to steep for 3 min (light tea) to 4 min (strong tea)
4. Remove tea leave after steeping, sweeten tea and enjoy.

*Traditional Thai Brew (cha-yen!).
1. Brew as above and pour tea over ice.
2. Sweeten with condensed milk or heavy creamer.
3. Enjoy
